iMOVE CRC launches this week
The future of transport in Australia is a hot topic right now, and rightly so, given the rate of new development and opportunities, and the potential impact on us all.
The new iMOVE CRC will provide the collaborative, multi-sector approach to engage relevant stakeholders, and deliver benefits.
The funding has been approved, the 45 industry, government, and research partners have signed on, and on Thursday, in Sydney, the iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) will be launched.
iMOVE CRC will run for 10 years, improving Australia’s transport systems through collaborative Research and Development projects. These projects will look for innovation and outcomes to:
- reduce road congestion, fuel use, emissions, accidents and fatalities
- improve freight co-ordination
- improve productivity and international competitiveness
- improve lifestyle and wellbeing
The launch
Attending the launch, and officially declaring the iMOVE CRC open, is Senator the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO, the Federal Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science.
Immediately following the Minister’s speech, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A session.
On the panel will be senior industry representatives, from road authorities and logistics, insurance, and technology companies:
- Woolworths
- Cohda Wireless
- IAG
- Transport and Main Roads Queensland
- Cubic Transportation Systems
We’re excited about the launch, and we are looking forward to engaging with our partners in the exciting opportunities in transport and mobility technology in the months and years ahead.
