Transport of Tomorrow 2020: The countdown is on!
In March 2019 iMOVE held its inaugural Transport of Tomorrow conference. It was a hugely successful and enjoyable event, and we’re pleased to tell you that it’s on again this March.
First up, here’s the crucial information on the when and where, and ticket options and registration gateway:
- When? 24 and 25 March 2020
- Where? SMC Conference & Function Centre, 66 Goulburn Street, Sydney NSW
- Tickets? Check out the ticket options, and purchase via the event’s Registration page
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Progress through integration’, and it would be fair to say that not only does this reflect the content of the conference, but also the organisation and spirit of it.
‘Based on feedback from our 2019 event, you want to clearly understand what we have learnt from our research and trials to date, including iMOVE projects. You want to hear international experts and best practise, and you want an event that creates as much opportunity for post–event initiatives as possible,’ writes iMOVE MD Ian Christensen in his Welcome to Transport of Tomorrow 2020 piece on the Transport of Tomorrow website.
Also on the topic of projects, a few of our biggest projects are in the area of freight and logistics. At last year’s conference for a number of reasons we didn’t include sessions and speakers in that area. For the 2020 conference, we have. Whether your area of expertise is intelligent transport systems / smart mobility, or more in the direction of freight and logistics, there will be presentations, panels, and Q&As of interest. And just as last year, there will be networking opportunities aplenty!
What else is new?
This year we’re introducing a Researcher Bright Ideas Pitchfest, and the Innovation Hub.
The Pitchfest is a platform for our research community to take the stage and give a three-minute pitch to Transport of Tomorrow 2020 delegates. That’s a room full of people from transport authorities and departments, local councils, mobility and transport technology companies, transport service providers, R&D specialists, and more. For additional information, including the important dates, eligibility criteria, and an application form, visit the Researcher Pitchfest page.
For companies that want to illustrate their innovation progress, this year we have the Innovation Hub, ideal for showcasing new ideas, products, services, and capability. These are limited in number to ensure that we keep our event a friendly affair that focused on innovation rather than a large trade show. There’s more information, and a downloadable brochure, on the conference site’s Sponsorship page.
The program
While we have a confirmed set of dates, and a venue, we’re still building the program, assembling speakers and panels, and the many other things to help make this a success.
As the event gets closer we’ll be adding more information to the Transport of Tomorrow website, but for now we have published an interim conference program and session information guide.
Transport of Tomorrow website
We also have a new standalone website for Transport of Tomorrow – there’s information there already, with a lot more being added between now and 24 March.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AT TRANSPORT OF TOMORROW! AN EVENT RUN BY COLLABORATORS, FOR COLLABORATORS.
