iMOVE Australia Ltd is a not-for-profit company, whose main activity is the administration of iMOVE CRC. It is governed by a eight-member board, comprising five independent directors, and three CRC participant members. Click on the images to display a short biography of each board member.
Chair (Independent)
Tom is a recognised leader in the transport technology industry, with over 35 years of experience developing, delivering, and supporting next-generation solutions in Australia and overseas.
Some of his notable achievements include the rollout of the NSW Opal smartcard ticketing system, and subsequent network wide Open Payments upgrade; the early delivery and implementation of the tolling, operation management control and tunnel systems for the Eastlink tollway in Victoria; and the launch of contactless payments on the Gold Coast Light Rail in Queensland.
Over the past 10 years, Tom was the Managing Director of Cubic’s Australian regional operation, and under his leadership the business profitably grew from 100 to over 500 staff.
He has recently commenced his own advisory business and looks forward to continuing to contribute to the advancement of the transport and mobility sector in Australia.
Independent
Ian is a passionate and experienced practitioner in innovation and collaboration, and these were the driving motivators behind his initiative to establish the iMOVE Co-operative Research Centre.
He has spent most of his working life developing and delivering innovation in real-world environments, with particular achievements in manufacturing, biotechnology, and transport.
His leadership of iMOVE draws on sixteen years of experience in managing multi stakeholder collaborations and over forty years of activity in technology innovation.
Ian is interested in a wide range of subject matter and creates value by identifying useful connections. He has a Bachelors degree in science and an MBA, and is the inventor on two families of patents.
Independent
Bruce has over 40 years of financial reporting, accounting, assurance and corporate governance experience, and is a Director and chairs the Audit Committee of the Holmesglen Institute.
He retired from Deloitte in 2011 as audit partner and leader for 16 years of the firm’s National Accounting Technical Group. At Deloitte Bruce specialised in providing advice on application and interpretation of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements, and was a member of its Global Leadership Team.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
CRC Participant
Miranda is the Director of the Cooperative and Automated Vehicle Initiative (CAVI). In this role she is managing the delivery of number of pilot projects aimed at exploring emerging vehicle technology that has the potential to improve road safety. Projects within the initiative include the Ipswich Connected Vehicle Pilot, and Cooperative and Highly Automated Driving.
She is a licensed civil engineer of more than 20 years’ experience and holds a PhD in Civil Engineering – Traffic from QUT.
Prior to returning home and joining the Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) Miranda held various roles in the United States, and regularly worked on projects within the National Cooperative Highways Research Program (NCHRP) & Transit Corporative Research Program (TCRP).
Miranda has to date been involved in 11 iMOVE projects, so she is well aware of the company’s work, outcomes and goals. With this new role on the iMOVE board she is looking forward to contributing further to the national transport R&D landscape.
CRC Participant
Scott Mitchell is Director, Major Research Initiatives and Research Contracts at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Scott brings over 16 years of research administration and government experience to iMOVE. Appointed to lead and set the strategic direction of Queensland University of Technology’s Major Research Initiatives portfolio, Scott provides extensive management experience, confidently building stakeholder relationships and quality research portfolio management. Scott also leads QUT’s Research Contracts unit bringing a wealth of experience across legal, corporate and governance matters.
He has extensive experience engaging with Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs). As Director, Major Research Initiatives Scott leads engagement with sixteen current and legacy CRC companies to build trust and productive working relationships. This broad experience provides an excellent knowledge of best practice for CRC engagement, governance, and investment.

Programs Director
Lee-Ann has over 20 years’ experience across diverse industries in New Zealand and Australia, specialising in supporting partnerships and collaboration that delivers value, and the deployment of transformational technologies.
She has had roles in public health, health insurance, transport and research, at such organisations as the Capital Markets CRC, Medibank, Australia Post, Auckland District Health Board, Auckland Regional Public Health Service, and most recently the Digital Health CRC.
In her spare time Lee-Ann loves being active through hiking, travelling and gym training, as well as spending time with her husband and three kids.
Her dream way of getting around would be via a Star Trek transporter … ’Beam me up Scotty!’ But until that moves from fiction to reality, a more intuitive, real-time view of parking availability would be fabulous.
CFO, HR & Company Secretary
CPA, MBA, GAICD
Oxana is in charge of the company’s financial, legal, and staff matters. Amongst her strengths and interests are governance and financial reporting, analysis, and modelling.
She obtained her first Master Accounting and Audit degree in Russia in early 90s. After working for few years in larger corporations and various accounting roles, she moved to Australia in late 2002.
Settling down in her new country, Oxana furthered her professional education to advance her career. She did bridging studies at La Trobe University in 2003-2005, achieved CPA qualification in 2009, completed an MBA at Deakin University in 2015, and graduated from the AICD program in 2016.
Oxana’s newly found passion for running has inspired two other team members to join her for lunch-break running sessions in the nearby park. Other interests are her beloved dog Jack, Latin dancing (and competing), yoga, and cycling.
Her dream outcome from the iMOVE CRC would be for technology that brings about zero road fatalities.
Head of Communications and Marketing
Jackie has been working at iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre since its inception in 2017, including as part of the bid team to get the centre off the ground. She has 30 years’ experience working in a variety of industries in the UK, Chile, and Australia, including recruitment, education, telecommunications, and automotive. She has spent over 12 years of her career at CRCs, being somewhat addicted to the collaborative environment and endlessly fascinating outcomes and stories that CRCs produce.
At iMOVE Jackie is responsible for all marketing, communications, media. events, IT and ad-hoc company projects. She is also very interested in new technology and how it can help the company to operate more effectively and communicate better. She is fond of productive change and likes to bring others along for the ride.
Content Strategist
Scott has a long history of writing, producing, and curating content for the web, and has done so across a number of industries, including travel, consumer electronics, automobile, and gaming.
Prior to that he worked in book publishing, and was an editor at the Macquarie Dictionary.
Scott remains disappointed that the long-standing pop culture promises of jetpacks and hoverboards – ‘real’ hoverboards, a la ‘Back to the Future’, rather than the recent fad of firestarters – are not transport staples of the 21st Century. He also enjoys being a dad to Mr 12 and exploring his new hometown of Melbourne.
Programs Manager
Renae has over 15 years in customer service and comes from a background in Event Management, working as a Professional Conference Organiser for six years before joining iMOVE.
She graduated from the University of Melbourne, with a Bachelor Science degree.
Interests include baking, dining with friends at local cafes and restaurants, and chasing after her puppy, Holly.
Renae’s dream transport innovation would be a device that allows you to find the best available parking spot in real time for wherever she is going, ending the need to continually drive around the block, or park miles away.
Project Development Mgr
Melissa is a seasoned projects professional, and is the point person at iMOVE managing them from inception through to completion.
Mel’s work history is wide and varied including working in Project Management at DELWP, Operations Manager at CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, a variety of finance roles and owning a Pilates studio for 7 years. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, has completed her CPA and has taught pilates for over 10 years.
In her role at iMOVE Melissa will help take projects from agreement formation stage through to execution, on the way building strong stakeholder relationships with our industry and research partners.
Outside of work, Mel enjoys travelling to foreign countries (whenever possible), hiking in nature, enjoying good food, and spending time with her family.
Melissa takes great pleasure in trying different routes to try and beat trip times in Waze and Google Maps. Observing all speed limits, of course!
Accountant
Follow the money they say in films, and at iMOVE CRC if you follow the money all roads lead back to Ling!
She keeps the lights on at the office, disburses the funding of the CRC research programs, and keeps us all fiscally organised.
She has a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (major in Marketing and E-commerce), a Master of Commerce (Accounting), and her Master of Commercial Law degree. And if that wasn’t enough she is currently studying for her CPA!
When she’s not studying, Ling likes going to seafood, Thai, and Japanese restaurants, running, and reading mystery novels. Her dream new transport tech? Nothing big, just a 3-in-1 vehicle that can transport her by air, land and water, and take her wherever she wants to be in the world, whenever she wants to be there.
Education & Programs Coordinator
Tana has over 20 years experience in various customer service roles, most recently working in Event Management for a large hospitality group in Melbourne.
Tana is currently studying a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Project Management and minoring in Economics, and is excited to marry her past work experience with her current studies in her position at iMOVE.
Tana’s interests include cooking, knitting, gardening, and playing with her sweet tabby cat, Streets. Tana doesn’t drive and would therefore love to see the public transit system become better attuned to the way people move around their neighbourhoods and their cities. She also strongly believes that public transit should be government owned, and for the people – not profit!
