Low Carbon Liquid Fuels Knowledge Hub
The LCLF Knowledge Hub (The Hub) will create a publicly accessible, evidence-based digital platform for Low Carbon Liquid Fuels (LCLF). It will consolidate reputable and validated information, including factsheets, databases and case studies, into an intuitive online resource. By providing trusted information and benchmarking tools, the project aims to accelerate investment and uptake of sustainable fuels among decision-makers, industry, and communities.
Project background
Decarbonising Australia’s transport, heavy industry, agriculture, and regional economies hinges on developing a robust LCLF sector. However, stakeholders, from regional communities to investors, face a fragmented information landscape, conflicting sustainability claims, and limited visibility into pilot and commercial projects.
A trusted information and consolidated evidence base will increase community (regional and urban) and industry understanding whilst encouraging the use of LCLF. A national database will reduce misunderstandings and address social licence gaps that could potentially risk delaying investment and uptake.
QUT will deliver a pilot LCLF Knowledge Hub that will serve as Australia’s premier evidence-based platform for LCLF information, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
This project aims to accelerate national understanding, collaboration, and investment in LCLF technologies by providing an authoritative and accessible resource for LCLF value-chain stakeholders.
Project objectives
The objectives of the project are to:
- Develop a LCLF Knowledge Hub, a trusted knowledge resource aggregating and curating reputable LCLF content into one accessible platform, reducing duplication and correcting misinformation.
- Plan for long-term growth by delivering a plan for maintaining and expanding the resource beyond the pilot phase.
