National Freight Data Hub: Have your say
The study project has been run and competed, the building of a National Freight Data Hub has been announced, and now the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development is looking for (more) input from the freight and logistics sector.
There was consultation with the sector in the iMOVE study project, but now the Federal Government is ‘… is seeking input from potential users of the Freight Data Hub to help settle the design’ of the National Freight Data Hub.
The questions being asked in this survey are:
- a focus on the purposes of the Hub
- priority datasets for inclusion
- the sharing principles and priority outputs
Results from this survey will be complemented with ongoing workshops with key stakeholders.
As was found in the iMOVE study project, the establishment of a National Freight Data Hub will:
- Support day-to-day operations in the freight and logistics sector
- Improve infrastructure and transport network investment decisions
- Enable end-to-end performance evaluation of Australia’s freight system
