Call for Top-Up Scholarship Applications
iMOVE’s PhD Program provides PhD students with an exciting opportunity to develop new technologies, processes and thinking in the intelligent transport field, helping to advance industry, Government and the nation.
As part of iMOVE’s commitment to our university partners, we’re inviting them to share with us details regarding PhD students currently already working in the transport area within their institutions who would like to apply for a top-up scholarship from iMOVE.
Who is eligible?
We encourage PhD students from all faculties to apply if their PhD is focused in the intelligent transport field.
Preference will be given to full time and domestic students (Australian citizens or permanent residents), however international and part-time students are also welcome to apply. All students must be currently in Australia (no offshore applications accepted).
We appreciate your support in circulating this call to your colleagues within our partner universities who may have suitable PhD students for our consideration.
How to apply
Universities are asked to please complete the attached spreadsheet for their existing PhD projects and return via reply to this email (rleeson@imoveaustralia.com) by Friday 20th August 2021 for our consideration and review.
The application spreadsheet includes a list of iMOVE’s Commonwealth milestones including our new theme focused on Transport Sustainability. We ask that you identify which milestone/s you feel your PhD would help contribute to as part of your application.
iMOVE will review all responses and will offer a limited number of top-up scholarships to a select few existing PhDs. Universities will be notified in late September if they have been successful in obtaining a top-up scholarship.
What happens if you are successful in receiving a PhD Top-Up Scholarship?
iMOVE will be in touch with successful applicants to discuss the specifics of their PhD Top-Up Scholarship offer in late September. A Project Agreement will be entered into between iMOVE and the University (and industry partner if applicable) outlining details of the project and top-up scholarship funding arrangements.
Students will be expected to provide quarterly progress reports to iMOVE for the duration of their PhD as a condition of the funding. Students will also be expected to participate (either physically or virtually where appropriate) if/when any PhD Student events are run by iMOVE.
