Kinetic supports Try Before You Ride accessibility initiative
Kinetic, an operator of a third of Melbourne’s public bus network, has “… joined other transport operators and Travellers Aid Australia to partner with Victoria’s Department of Transport in the delivery of the accessibility event which allows people with disabilities and mobility impairments to practice using different modes of public transport in a relaxed environment.”

“An Australian-first on-road trial in Victoria that saw trams and cars communicate in real-time, has revealed the potential role technology can play when it comes to reducing the number of collisions between trams and vehicles.”

It’s approaching election time in Victoria, so ’tis the season for announcements. In this the incumbent government is announcing a scheme to fix the issue of old, dirty trucks and their effect on air quality in Melbourne’s inner west. “Air quality is generally good in Victoria, but air pollution is twice as bad as the acceptable rate in parts of Yarraville, which trucks drive through to get to and from the Port of Melbourne.”
