Aligning the transport and energy sectors as we electrify transport
iMOVE, C4NET, and RMIT University are hosting a hybrid live/webinar event in Melbourne on 9 May 2023, Aligning the transport and energy sectors as we electrify transport, aimed specifically at industry and government stakeholders. The event will be recorded and all that register will be notified when the recording is available.
We are careering towards mass electrification of transport at increasing speed. The momentum we are building is positive for emissions reduction, while at the same time it raises questions about how we meet energy demand across the nation.
A successful electric vehicles rollout requires alignment and collaboration between the transport and energy sectors, and we are inviting you to be part of the conversation.
In this workshop we will hear introductory perspectives from both sectors, followed by group discussions to identify where there are gaps, inconsistencies or other challenges that need to be addressed. Areas up for discussion could include:
- Current and future desired state for each sector
- Sector business / operating models and KPIs
- Differences between business and residential/consumer needs and demand
- Sector policy and regulation
- Solutions to challenges and opportunities for joint initiatives
An outcomes paper will be circulated after the event to keep the discussion going and work towards collaborative opportunities to solve challenges.
The event will also be the launch of a new podcast series featuring a wide variety of perspectives on electrification of transport as it relates to the transport and energy sectors.
